You can find our organic produce and the Oneota Food Co-op, local restaurants, and at the Decorah Farmers Market. The best way to get a regular supply of local produce and build a relationship with "your farmer" is through a CSA share. Canoe Creek Produce offers 3 options The CSA Market share Traditional Market Share: $200 This is the simplest plan. It gives you both choice and flexibility. With this share you start the season with a balance of $220 to purchase any of the produce at the Canoe Creek Produce farmers market stand--Saturday’s May through October, 8:00-11:00. You will work your balance down as the season progresses making your own choices such as salad greens in May, tomatoes in August, and squash in October along with an e-newsletter to let you know what will be at the market and some preparation tips and recipes. It works out to about $8 worth of weekly vegetables . There is no requirement to purchase produce every week--if you are out of town or otherwise busy you have the flexibility to skip a week here and there and spend more on the others.
The Super Vegetable Eaters : $400 This is a share for the serious vegetable eating household. If you clap your hands for joy when the sugar snap peas are ready, your mouth waters just thinking about the first golden orange cherry tomato, or you smoosh a bunch of mint in your face to surround yourself with the aroma, this may be the CSA plan for you. It has all the benefits of the traditional market share just bigger! Both market shares are able to work with the Iowa Food Hub’s online market. With payment you will be given a gift card code to make purchases from the online store during the week, and pick up on Saturday or have it delivered for a small fee. Your CSA balance can be spent on either purchase methods. Boxed CSA Shares Surprise me! Box : $200 Have a hard time deciding? Like a little surprise and adventure? You receive 20 weekly boxes from the last week in May until mid October. Each box will contain $10-$12 worth of produce and a small bouquet of flowers. They will include what’s most fresh and abundant in the garden and many times come with a fun theme such as stir fry dinner, salsa pack, Indian curry vegetables, soup fixin’s, etc. Pick up can be at the Iowa Food Hub or the Decorah Farmers Market on Saturdays CSA shares can be reserved by contacting Barb Kraus at canoecreekpro@gmail.com Prefered method of payment is by check made to: CANOE CREEK PRODUCE 2912 MANAWA TRAIL DECORAH, IA 52101
